Laxmi’s Empowerment through Tailoring

Before Joining the Program: Laxmi, a 42-year-old from a marginalized community, faced discrimination and limited opportunities. Her family’s financial constraints meant that Laxmi had to drop out of school early to help with household chores. She yearned for a chance to learn and grow but saw no clear path forward.

Transformation through Tailoring: In 2024, Laxmi discovered the Life Enrichment Center Nepal’s tailoring program. Eager to break free from the cycle of poverty, she joined the program and excelled in her training. The supportive mentors and collaborative learning environment helped Laxmi develop not only her tailoring skills but also her self-confidence.

A New Beginning: After completing the program, Laxmi secured a job at a local garment factory. Her reliable income has transformed her family’s financial situation, allowing her younger siblings to stay in school. Laxmi dreams of opening her own tailoring shop one day and is actively saving towards that goal. She is now a role model in her community, demonstrating that with determination and support, anyone can overcome adversity.
